We are a small company on a big mission to minimise & contribute towards ultimately eliminating textiles waste.
At happy-scrappie we emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use.
We collaborate with industry partners to drive the reuse of their textiles off-cuts, deadstock and remnants preventing them from going to landfill, and in turn creating a circular system that fully utilises this untapped resource.
As the old saying goes “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure”.
More than 220,000 tonnes of textiles end up in our landfills annually – that’s a whopping 44kg of waste per person.
Looping current waste materials back into production reduces the need to draw on new resources & assists us to stay within the bio-physical limits of the earth. (source: the formary)
Here at happy-scrappie we are pretty pumped to be creating a new way of thinking about resources, production, connectedness & nature.
